Well, it’s less than three weeks to the big day now, and thing are starting to hot up. I was down at Wembley Arena the other day to do some interviews and the like, and the reality of the show hit a little closer to home. I’m happy to say, though, that rather than shitting my pants, I felt quietly confident that it’s going to be a great evening for everyone.
Some thoughts on tickets. First of all, there are still some tickets available. Granted, they are seated tickets rather than standing. But, having just had a walk around the place, I can assure you that the show will be just as awesome from there (and I seriously doubt it’ll stay seated for very long); you’ll probably get a better view anyway.
Secondly, I know some people are desperate for standing tickets at all costs. Also, with a show of this size, there are a fair few people with changing plans who want to sell or exchange tickets or whatever. First of all, please, please don’t use those scammy ticket exchange websites, they’re a rip off for everyone. It’s much better (and in keeping with the spirit of what I do) for people to do this person to person, as friends. For that, the forum on my site is hard to beat. It’s a great community of cool people, and everyone can work out what they want from there.
Please also note that I cannot retweet everyone looking for tickets. Given that it’s a rarity, I will RT people who have standing tickets to sell or exchange, but that’s it I’m afraid.
Finally, I was going to say something about Xtra Mile Recordings‘ Night Before Wembley show at the Barfly (on, uh, the night before the show), but it sold out in a day, so I won’t. Also, for those of you who didn’t already hear, we’re running a Frank Turner App at the moment with news and updates running up to the big show. It’s currently in the iTunes store for iPhones and the like (have a search), and people are working overtime to get it up and running for Android and other platforms.
Counting down the days, it’s going to be huge!
