Record Store Day 2012

The whole Record Store Day thing is not something all that new, but it is something excellent and worthwhile, and this year it happens to fall just after the Wembley show (April 21st). So I’ve decided to put out a very limited 7″ vinyl to celebrate both occasions.

Vinyl Artwork

The vinyl will be a double A side, featuring “I Still Believe“, and a previously unreleased recording of my cover of “Somebody to Love“, originally by Queen. The Sleeping Souls and I recorded this version at GodCity Studios in Salem MA with the legendary Kurt Ballou of Converge on production duties. The vinyl will be clear green, and there will be an ultra-limited run of 1,000 copies, with artwork (left) by Tom Lacey. The record is being released, of course, by Xtra Mile Recordings, and should be available for pre-order now from all good (independent) record shops across the UK, Europe and North America. Get down to your local now and put an order in, and maybe pick some other stuff up to, to help support independent record stores generally.

**EDIT** Just had it pointed out to me that you can’t preorder the vinyl, it’s first-come-first-served on the day. My bad. I guess you can just hound your local store to get copies in!
