On The Shores Of The Rio Grande

For he umpteenth time in my life, we’ve just driven through the deserts of West Texas, this time heading west. The tour is entering its final stages now, only a few more shows to go. Everyone has got that extra bit of energy you get when the finish line is in sight, the shows in Texas were solidly awesome, and it’s kind of sad to think that this little line-up of travellers will soon be parting ways. Such is life on the move. The buddy tattoo sessions have begun in earnest, everyone has more facebook friends.

Today we’re in El Paso, stopping off with old friend Jim Ward. We’re actually going to hit his studio here and demo some new songs that we’ve been working on. We’ll be in the studio proper in January, so all minds are now starting to focus on the new material. I’m quietly confident, we have 16 songs in the bag that I think are going to make for a great album. It’s going to be a lot of work getting it just right, but I think we have it in us.

Before then though there’s the UK tour, which I am very much looking forward to now. After a long stretch of opening up at shows, it’s always delightfully satisfying to come home to headline. Southampton and Oxford are both pretty much sold out now. See you all soon.
