| Well, whats Frank reading these days? Or during the last time you weren't too busy to read. The tour looks like a ridiculous schedule. |

I'd imagine it's the biography of Eddie Stalin, a fishmonger from Minsk who revolutionised the industry with the introduction of serated blades |

I was more wondering whether it was service, sebag montefiore, volkogonov etc.
I find montefiore the most readable, but I think service's work is probably the one with the most 'academic' merit. _________________

I'm just finishing that Montefiore book. I find his writing *rather* irritating at times - a little too colloquial for the subject matter maybe. Or maybe it's just the tone. Or alternatively I'm just jealous as I'd love to write a Stalin Biography.
Sigh. |

Oh, and yes, Stalin is a sick bastard, but without his rapid industrialisation of Russia would the outcome of WW2 been significantly different?
Not saying he was right or owt, but, you know, it's a point... |

| It's a pretty moot point though. You can't justify his actions on the basis of a future war no one could have predicted. Akin to the loom of fate from Wanted |
