Frank & Greg James

I popped in to Greg James’ Radio 1 show last Wednesday to revisit an old jingle I wrote him, talk about ‘Tape Deck Heart’, playing the olympics and loads of other bits.

You can listen again on the BBC iPlayer here.

In other radio news, I also picked a few tracks for Xfm here and played live in session for Absolute Radio’s Geoff Lloyd here.

Frank Says Dig

Due to overwhelming demand from you guys, the ‘Frank Says Dig’ t-shirts that feature in the ‘The Way I Tend To Be’ video are going to be brought into actual existence.

Should you fancy it you can get yours here.

This kind of caught us by surprise though so we haven’t got many, you’d best be quick.

And, yes, I *know* the shirts in the video say ‘Frankie Says Dig’ (because of Frankie Goes To Hollywood) but these ones say Frank, because that’s my name (and because there’s only about two people in my life, who I’ve known since I was at primary school, who I can handle calling me “Frankie”).

#FTHCflag Auction Reminder

Hey all, just wanted drop a quick note to say thanks to everyone who made the #FTHCflag such a success.

As you know, it toured all around the UK and I couldn’t be more proud of the fans on Twitter who rallied around to take it from one show to the next.

You guys used the power of Twitter to meet in bars before shows, at the merch stand after shows, and you took photos of all the places the flag accompanied you to, including York Castle, Winchester Cathedral and the village where I was raised.

Last week, at my London forum show, I announced that I was auctioning the #FTHCflag to raise funds for Shelter, and as soon as I put the flag on eBay, the bidding war began – it currently stands at an astounding £3,025!

The auction ends tomorrow just before 4pm UK time, so if you want to do some strategic bidding, or just watch to see how much money the #FTHCflag raises, take a look at the auction page from around 3.30pm here.

Thanks again everyone, this could not have been possible without you!

This week + #FTHCflag Charity Auction

What a week it’s been. The album is out, I’ve been on tour around the UK, and everything has been going a bit insane. I’ve been holding on in the middle of the maelstrom (thanks Sleeping Souls) but overall, it’s good to be alive this week.

Lots of people have been buying ‘Tape Deck Heart‘, and I’m grateful to all of you for that. Madly enough, we are currently at #2 in the UK album charts, between Michael Buble and Will.I.Am. That’s not a sentence I thought I’d be typing any time soon. We will see how it goes come Sunday, but even to be here now is pretty funny, and kind of exciting too.

The UK shows have all been awesome (apologies for the hyperbole but it’s true). The #FTHCFlag also went better than I could have imagined, with a lot of really lovely people pulling together on Twitter to bring it around the country. We are now auctioning the flag off and raising funds for Shelter, watch a video about it here and bid on the flag here.

I’m now heading to Europe for Groezrock festival and more shows on the continent. I’m pretty intensely tired, but feeling good about things.

Thanks everyone for your support. Onwards and upwards.

Watch My London Forum Show Live On YouTube

The UK tour so far has been great, nice to see everyone. ‘Tape Deck Heart’ was only released this week but people already know the words, which is ace. We even got an exercise class of sorts started to “Recovery” in Bristol, haha.

I’ve still got shows left in Birmingham and London but if you don’t have tickets, fear not! Thursday’s show at the Forum is going to be live streamed to the world via the magic of the internet.

So if you want to see the gig from the comfort of your living room, subscribe to my YouTube channel here or stream from Muzu.tv here and tune in at 9pm (BST) to watch it.
